Este artículo rastrea el concepto de capacidad en la filosofía crítica, así como en la transición a la misma, de Immanuel Kant con el fin de reconstruir sus usos y los efectos que tiene para la reflexión filosófica posterior, atendiendo, en especial, a la manera en la que se ha construido al sujeto racional universal. Los efectos derivados de este análisis serán contrastados con algunas perspectivas críticas sobre la (dis)capacidad y el capacitismo con el fin de cuestionar las posturas kantianas (...) y mostrar la productividad filosófica de una aproximación anacrónica que pone en contacto la historia de la filosofía en Occidente con el presente problemático que vivimos. Las piedras pueden ser usadas para marcar recorridos y rutas para el pensamiento. Este itinerario está compuesto por cuatro piedras que configuran un terreno de contrastes. La primera pone el contraste entre lo vivo y lo no vivo como punto de partida en el cual la delicada interfaz entre esos dos mundos queda suspendida y puesta en entredicho. Aquí emerge el concepto de agencia como aspecto confuso y problemático. La segunda piedra se desplaza al contraste entre la construcción humana y (...) la construcción geológica, las cuales se encuentran unidas por diferentes acepciones de lo tectónico. El poder móvil de las piedras afinca la tercera piedra en la cual se presentan concepciones ‘premodernas’ del ingenio del paisaje en la geografía y una de las manifestaciones de la productividad de las piedras en los minerales. La extracción de estos últimos pone de manifiesto la íntima relación que hay entre las piedras y la discriminación sobre ciertos grupos humanos, de modo que la cuarta piedra expone la paradoja que se cierne sobre el contraste entre lo interior y lo exterior. Esta última piedra regresa sobre el concepto de agencia para enfatizar uno de sus rasgos turbios. Cada una de las piedras envuelve intersticios entre los cuales fluye una forma de pensamiento que bien podría llamarse la de una ontología minúscula. (shrink)

The question of what the relevant entities or units of analysis for studying the dynamics of R&D are is central not only for adequate characterizations of the system of scientific and technological knowledge production but also for determining the correct focus for evaluation of R&D activities. Typically, R&D performance evaluations have focused not only on the wrong thing but have looked in the wrong place. Most evaluations have been project or program based. Often this focus is misleading. This article presents (...) a “knowledge value” framework as an alternative focus for understanding and evaluating scientific and technical work. This framework consists of two core concepts: the Knowledge Value Collective and the Knowledge Value Alliance. On the basis of the analysis of twenty-eight case studies of research activities, the authors present a typology of KVAs and conclude that they are a better object of evaluation than discipline-based projects. Presentamos una síntesis del modelo teórico sobre el conocimiento y la institución matemática en cuya elaboración venimos trabajando desde hace varios años y que proporciona herramientas conceptuales y metodológicas para plantear y abordar problemas de investigación en didáctica de las matemáticas. Como rasgos característicos destacamos la articulación de las facetas institucionales y personales del conocimiento matemático, la atribución de un papel clave a los recursos expresivos y la asunción coherente de supuestos pragmáticos y realistas sobre el significado de los objetos (...) matemáticos. El modelo de cognición matemática elaborado se adopta como elemento clave sobre el que basar el desarrollo de una teoría de la instrucción matemática significativa. (shrink)

Psychologists and economists often ask similar questions about human behaviour. This volume brings together contributions from leaders in both disciplines.The editorial introduction discusses methodological differences between the two which have until now limited the development of mutually beneficial lines of research. Psychologists have objected to what they see as an excessive formalism in economic modelling and an unrealistic degree of sophistication in the behaviour of individuals, while economists criticize the absence of a general psychological framework into which most results can (...) be fitted and the lack of welfare implications in their theories. Resumen: El presente trabajo busca reflexionar, desde la perspectiva de los estudios interartísticos, acerca de la práctica narrativa de Adolfo Couve, escritor y pintor chileno que tematiza el mundo plástico en toda su producción narrativa. A partir de una concepción desprejuiciada respecto de lo marginal, de la fealdad y la miseria, el autor despliega una mirada alterna en los espacios de borde en busca de la reivindicación de la miseria, a la vez que relativizar el canon estético que prestigia temas (...) y motivos lejanos al campo de referencia de quienes habitan el borde. La exhibición de aquellos espacios, los personajes y los paisajes minoritarios, su composición plástica y narrativa, sin embargo, dialogan permanentemente con la tradición pictórica de elite.: The present work seeks to reflect, from the perspective of interartistic studies, on the narrative practice of Adolfo Couve, Chilean writer and painter who thematizes the plastic world in all his narrative production. Starting from an unprejudiced conception regarding the marginal, the ugliness and the misery, our author displays an alternate look on the edge spaces in search of the vindication of the misery, at the same time that relativizes the aesthetic canon that prestige subjects and reasons far from the reference field of those who inhabit the edge. The exhibition of those spaces, the characters and the minority landscapes, their plastic and narrative composition, nevertheless, permanently dialogue with the pictorial tradition of elite. En La nave de los locos los signos propuestos alrededor del tópico de la embarcación recolectora de orates que replica el espacio manicomial, o de los campos de concentración, o de las dictaduras, subraya además el abandono y el despojo de la sociedad y su asentamiento fundamental, la ciudad, que niega una y otra vez la presencia de los perturbadores. En esta circunstancias, creemos que el texto de Cristina Peri Rossi va mutando desde la concepción de la marginación como puro (...) despojo y negatividad, a la asunción del éxodo como instancia de liberación, y por tanto, de superación de las categorizaciones propuestas por el poder. La locura en Los siete locos es resultado de un intento de integración a la realidad sufrido por los personajes revolucionarios, a quienes se les adosa ese otro bloque de sentido, aquel en abierta polémica con el logos imperial que expele a los individuos que no se dejan disciplinar. Con esto, entonces, se intensifica en ellos la insurrección y la diferencia con los disciplinados y posibilita la exploración de otros lugares/no-lugares, además de cartografiar “futuros parajes”, propicios para la asunción de (...) la nueva sociedad. Los locos de Arlt no son producto de una desadaptación social, sino de una adaptación a las condiciones alienadas de la sociedad bonaerense por la que circulan. Madness in Los siete locos is the result of an attempt of integration into reality that is experienced by revolutionary characters, to whom that other type of sense is added; one which is openly opposed to the imperial logo that expels individuals who do not let themselves to be disciplined. Thus, in these characters there is an intensification of the insurrection and distinction from those who are disciplined. This allows the exploration of other places/non-places and also helps to map “future settings” appropriate for the emergence of the new society. Arlt’s madmen are not the result of a social mismatch but of an adaptation to the alienated conditions of the Buenos Aires society that they are part of. (shrink)

A partir de la constatación de la inflación lingüística del vocablo "experiencia" y de la imposibilidad-necesidad de una experiencia extrasensigle, estas páginas se aproximan a la realidad de la experiencia desde el tipo de conocimiento que procura -la intuición- y desde la metamorfosis del ego que suscita -construcción de una biografía-. Se muestra, de igual modo, cómo libertad y destino coinciden en la experiencia de sí mismo, y cómo las nupcias entre experiencia y lenguaje son indisolubles. Por último, teniendo en (...) cuenta lo que ha supuesto la introducción de la categoría "experiencia" en las ciencias teológicas, se apuntan los pilares de la experiencia cristiana y la experiencia de la gracia, haciendo ver cómo las actitudes del distanciamiento y de la inmersión son imprescindibles para poder hablar, en rigor, de una experiencia espiritual. Este artículo pretende mostrar las aportaciones del pensador francés Michel de Certeau, sobre el proceso de surgimiento de las instituciones sociales. Para ello he analizado, en el marco de la antropología certeauniana del creer, su texto Une politique de la langue, en el que Certeau aborda el proyecto del Abbé Gregoire para imponer el francés sobre los patois a finales del siglo XVIII. Puede concluirse, tras este análisis, que las instituciones se fundan siguiendo un proceso en tres fases: la definición (...) clara de las creencias básicas o principios rectores de la institución ; el desplazamiento de los principios alternativos con los que compite ; y la lucha contra la resistencias que ofrecen las antiguas creencias. The focus of this article is the life and work of the French thinker Michel de Certeau, here presented as a philosopher of special interest for nursing. Although in some countries he is relatively unknown, international authors from scientific disciplines regard his texts as a fundamental source in the opening of new intellectual perspectives on current global problems. Some nurses have also considered his ideas as a useful aid for reflecting on their professional activities, and their most important research is (...) cited. Over these pages, we also examine how Certeau's work can enrich nursing philosophy in regard to three specific issues: resistance practices in nursing in the face of pressure from health institutions; the social configuration of nursing knowledge; and the importance of the body in current nursing practice. The current situation in which the humanities are disparaged affects all university disciplines, including nursing, in whose historical evolution the humanities have always been present in one form or another. Looking beyond this disrepute, this study proposes that nursing renew its attention to classical philosophy. Specifically, it invites a close reading of Xenophon's Anabasis and Plato's Meno, to get three related goals: to show how the use of ancient texts are very valuable tools for the philosophical initiation of nursing students (...) and can help them reflect on their choice of nursing as a practical activity; to reflect on the problem of virtue and the nature of the good life; and to show how the interaction with ancient texts allows students to reflect on questions and issues of life, theirs and others, that are not open to investigation through a purely scientific method. Consequently, both Anabasis and Meno readings strengthen the intellectual relationship between philosophy and nursing, enabling the latter to delve deeper into the key questions of its own thought as a discipline. La mayor complejidad para acercar la ética y la gestión pública es el desconocimiento epistemológico de la naturaleza no científica de los constructos que intentan hacer una reflexión seria de los quehaceres que les ocupan. En el trabajo se indagan las posibles ideologizaciones que se alojan tanto en una y otra disciplina, para proponer, a guisa de apuesta, que si se asume la inmersión de ambas en el discurso capitalista se las flexiona a favor del primero. Sólo la subversión del (...) espíritu crítico haría posible remontar los individualismos, previo reconocimiento de la esencia cultural de lo humano, para, desde allí, encontrar las vinculaciones más legítimas posibles, lo que se ejemplifica con los ingenios filosóficos de Margalit y Freud. :Robert Nozick allegedly introduced his liberal theory of private ownership as an objection to theories of end-state justice. Nevertheless, we show that, in a stylized framework for the allocation of goods in joint ventures, both approaches can be seen as complementary. More precisely, in such a context, self-ownership followed by voluntary transfer can lead to end-state fairness. Furthermore, under a certain solidarity condition, the only way to achieve end-state fairness, following Nozick’s procedure, is to endorse an egalitarian rule for the (...) initial assignment of rights. In recent times there has been a surge in interest on policy instruments to stimulate scientific and engineering research that is of greater consequence, advancing our knowledge in leaps rather than steps and is therefore more “creative” or, in the language of recent reports, “transformative.” Associated with the language of “transformative research” there appears to be much enthusiasm and conviction that the future of research is tied to it. However, there is very little clarity as to what exactly it is (...) and what criteria might be used to design policy instruments to make more of it happen. In this paper, we contribute to the construction of a framework within which some conceptual clarity might be gained. We develop four analogies, or metaphors, that are found in the discourse about “transformative research” and show what they imply for the meaning of the notion and, as a result, both the phenomena that might be associated with it and the levers that would be available to design policy instruments. The analogies serving as theoretical metaphors that we propose, and also document to be present either explicitly or implicitly in the discourse about “transformative research,” are the stock market highlighting risk; the process of evolution and its selection mechanisms; the process of popular culture and the power of “hot” events; and exploration of the frontier of the unknown. No single analogy covers all the relevant issues. Together they help identify a field of phenomena and the potential and challenges “transformative research” presents to policy. (shrink)

En la actualidad, aún se desconoce el verdadero alcance de la vasta cultura de Lope de Vega, pues, aunque se sabe que fue un gran lector, que legó más de 1500 libros, sus títulos se han perdido a lo largo de la historia. No obstante, en sus obras trasciende una serie de textos que contribuyeron a su formación. En el presente trabajo se analiza La Arcadia, considerada la novela pastoril más erudita del Siglo de Oro, desde la perspectiva de los (...) agentes terapéuticos. En esta obra se mencionan remedios de procedencia herbal, de procedencia mineral y también de procedencia animal. Los resultados confirman que Lope de Vega pudo utilizar una serie de textos científicos en sus citas sobre la materia terapéutica. Entre ellos cabe destacar a Andrés Laguna y su Dioscórides y Plinio el Viejo, cuya Historia Natural pudo haber consultado como fuente primaria, a través de alguna traducción comentada, como la de Gerónimo de Huerta o a través de alguna otra obra basada en ella, como el opúsculo de Constantino Castriota, pues, en este último caso, se encuentran párrafos muy similares y, en algunos casos, casi literales. Nowadays, the true extent of the vast culture of Lope de Vega is still largely unknown. Although it is known that he was a great reader, who bequeathed more than 1500 books, his titles have been lost throughout history. However, a series of texts that contributed to his education become known in his works. In the present paper, La Arcadia, considered the most erudite pastoral romance of Spanish Golden Age, is analyzed from the therapeutic perspective. Remedies of herbal origin, of mineral origin and also of animal origin are mentioned in this novel. The results achieved confirm that Lope de Vega was able to use a series of scientific texts in his quotations on the therapeutic subject. Among them, it is worth mentioning Andres Laguna, and Pliny the Elder, whose Natural History could have been consulted as a primary source, through some commented translation, such as that of Geronimo de Huerta, or through some other work based on it, like Constantino Castriota's opuscule. In the latter case, there are very similar and, in some cases, almost literal paragraphs. (shrink)

Kant’s Copernican turn has been the subject of intense philosophical debate because of the central role it plays in his transcendental philosophy. The analogy that Kant depicts between his own proposal and Copernicus’s has received many and varied interpretations that focus either on Copernicus’s heliocentrism and scientific procedure or on the experimental character of Kant’s endeavor. In this paper, I gather and review some of these interpretations, especially those that have ap­peared since the beginning of the twentieth century, to show (...) the many disparate and often contradictory stances that the Copernican turn has elicited. Despite the controversies between the different interpretations, they all are follow ups and reinventions of the single philosophical event named the Copernican turn. This common origin allows me to advance a narrative that portrays that event as an experiment, following Hans-Jörg Rheinberger’s philosophy of experimentation. My position does not entail that an experiment such as Kant’s conforms to what a scientific experiment is, although their histories could be narrated using a similar conceptual framework. In the end, my argument advances an experimental reading of the history of philosophy. (shrink)

Presentamos las dificultades relatadas por estudiantes de pedagogía de dos universidades latinoamericanas, en el contexto de la pandemia COVID-19. Los datos fueron obtenidos a partir de registros escritos y encuestas respondidas por los estudiantes y analizados a partir de una visión freireana de educación. Los problemas junto con el sufrimiento emocional de los jóvenes revelaron el distanciamiento entre docentes y estudiantes y entre sus pares, lo que impactó su proceso formativo. Una práctica educativa que valore el diálogo y los contextos (...) de intereses y motivaciones de los estudiantes se torna fundamental para su formación académica más humana, integrada y transdisciplinar. Attention is often dichotomized into controlled vs. automatic processing, where controlled processing is slow, flexible, and intentional, and automatic processing is fast, inflexible, and unintentional. In contrast to this strict dichotomy, there is mounting evidence for context-specific processes that are engaged rapidly yet are also flexible. In the present study we extend this idea to the domain of implicit learning to examine whether flexibility in automatic processes can be implemented through the reliance on contextual features. Across three experiments we show (...) that participants can learn implicitly two complementary sequences that are associated with distinct contexts, and that transfer of learning when the two contexts are randomly intermixed depends on the distinctiveness of the two contexts. Our results point to the role of context-specific processes in the acquisition and expression of implicit sequence knowledge, and also suggest that episodic details can be represented in sequence knowledge. Lo que se intenta aquí es señalar esos presupuestos ontológico-existenciales que indicara acertadamente el filósofo alemán en su momento. El avance que se presenta hace parte del proyecto de investigación “Ontología en América Latina” que lidera el Grupo de Investigación Tlamatinime. La primera parte tiene como objetivo fijar cuatro lineamientos que (...) estructuran la propuesta de una hermenéutica existencial: 1. La disposición afectiva como afectación y responsabilidad. 2. El comprender afectivo. 3. El comprender como interpretación. 4. El sentido. La segunda parte, consiste en presentar lo que se vislumbra por hermenéutica existencial y cuál sería su propósito. Semi-intuitionistic logic is the logic counterpart to semi-Heyting algebras, which were defined by H. P. Sankappanavar as a generalization of Heyting algebras. We present a new, more streamlined set of axioms for semi-intuitionistic logic, which we prove translationally equivalent to the original one. We then study some formulas that define a semi-Heyting implication, and specialize this study to the case in which the formulas use only the lattice operators and the intuitionistic implication. We prove then that all the logics thus (...) obtained are equivalent to intuitionistic logic, and give their Kripke semantics. (shrink)
